LinguaSpace 2.0.0 is a major release. Architectural changes have been so large that it can be considered a new program. And that is basically true, LinguaSpace was re-written from scratch based on the lessons learnt in the 1st version. Here are the main functional and technological changes:
- Document based approach. Each vocabulary and each user profile is a separate and self sufficient document. You can copy any of them between machines at it will work. Now importing is needed just open it in LinguaSpace.
- Multiuser environment. It is possible to have more than one user profile on the single computer. Each user profile contains learning statistics of the single user. Users can share common vocabularies but their statistics does not intersect.
- Rich word information.. For each meaning of the word that you are willing to learn you can now provide: translations to the native language, synonyms and antonyms in the target language, word definition e.g. from the Oxford dictionary, example of the word used in the real phrase you can copy from your textbook. It is also possible to enter specific prefix and suffix of the word, for example a preposition.
- Rich flash cards exam. LinguaSpace now generates much richer flash cards than in the 1st version. Translations and definitions, synonyms and antonyms, basically all possible combinations of data will be presented randomly.
- New User Interface. LinguaSpace 2.0.0 is written using the latest Microsoft technologies such as WPF to achieve the best look and feel as weel as the extraordinary ergonomics.
